If you are due to receive a tax refund, the money will be deposited into your bank account provided you have notified us of the account number. If you have not, you need to request disbursement of your tax refund. This page contains information about when the tax refund is made and how you go about getting it paid out to you.
If you don’t have a Swedish bank account and would like your tax refund paid into a foreign bank account, you have to notify the Swedish Tax Agency of this in a letter signed by the authorised account holder.
State the following:
You also have to include a certification from your bank that the account you wish to register is yours. It needs to be the original, which must be stamped and signed by the bank, and not older than 6 months. If you represent a legal person, include documentation certifying that you are an authorised signatory.

A registered foreign bank account number will apply until you notify us of any change. If you want to change your account number to another foreign bank account number, proceed in the same way as you did the first time. If you no longer wish to have a foreign bank account number registered, notify the Swedish Tax Agency of this in writing.
If you have a bank account in a Swedish bank that you wish to register, do so via the bank giro website.
If you have an eID you can register a bank account in any of the following ways (the e-services are in Swedish):
Tjänsten för Inkomstdeklaration 1 är stängd från och med den 3 december och öppnar igen den 16 mars 2021. Välkommen tillbaka!

If you have registered a bank account, your tax refund will be automatically paid into it. If you have not registered a bank account well in advance of the tax refund, you will have to request that it be paid into your account. Do as follows:
Notify us of the account number
Once the Swedish Tax Agency has registered your account, the payment will automatically be made into it.
You can also write a letter to your local tax office to request that your money be paid to you by cheque.
If you have an eID, do as follows:
Notify the Swedish Tax Agency of the bank account into which you want the tax refund paid. It usually takes two banking business days for your account to be registered.
Once your account number is registered, you can request that the money be paid into it. Do so by logging into the Skattekonto (Tax Account) e-service. Click Utbetalning (Disbursement) in the menu, and then Begär utbetalning (Request disbursement).
The money will normally be available in your account within three banking business days.
Your final tax statement tells you how much money you are going to be refunded, or if you have additional tax to pay.
You can see your preliminary tax in the preliminary tax calculation you receive along with your tax return form. You can also see it via the Swedish Tax Agency’s app and the Inkomstdeklaration 1 (Income tax return 1) e-service. They can also show you how your tax changes if you change or add elements on your tax return. These e-services are in Swedish.
If the Swedish Tax Agency needs more information in order to calculate your final tax, we will contact you. If we decide to change something on your tax return, we will include a document of this decision with your final tax statement. If you are owed a refund, you will receive it in connection with the final tax statement.
If you have a debt with the Swedish Enforcement Authority, your tax refund will first be offset against that debt. Any balance remaining will then be paid to you.
