If someone reports moving within Sweden to your registered address, you may receive a letter about it from the Swedish Tax Agency. You will then have the opportunity to confirm whether or not this person lives at your address.
If you receive a letter stating that someone has reported a move to your registered address, you have the opportunity to confirm whether or not this person lives at your address. If several people are registered at your address, only one of them will receive the letter. If you do not have a digital mailbox, we will send a letter to your address by post.
We will send out the letter on this person’s reported moving-in date. The letter will show who has reported a move and the moving-in date they have given. If several people have reported a move to your address, you will receive a separate letter for each person over 16 years old. You will then need to provide a separate response for each person.
There are two response alternatives . If the person concerned lives at your registered address, respond “yes”. If this person does not live at your registered address, respond “no”. If you respond no you also have the opportunity to leave a comment. We will then continue to investigate where this person should be registered.
You can respond via our e-service or by calling out tax information service.
Keep the following in mind: you can only respond if you have received a letter from us
If you cannot use the e-service, you can provide your response by calling our tax information service. You will need to state your personal identity number and the control code given in the letter.
The letter will state the deadline for responding. It is important that you respond as soon as possible so that we can take a quick decision in the matter. You will not receive a notification of our decision, but we may contact you if we have any further questions.
If you do not respond, the Swedish Tax Agency will assume that the information in the notification is correct. In most cases, the person concerned will then be registered as living at your address after the deadline has passed.
If you have moved, it is important that you report your change of address so that you can be registered at the correct address.
In some cases, we do not send a letter There are some circumstances in which the Swedish Tax Agency does not send out a letter. This might be the case if:
